Dearbháile Larkin

Dearbháile passed her nursing exams from Trinity College with distinction in 2015.  Dearbháile gained a wide range of experience working in specialist, corporate and hospital environments. We are delighted that Dearbháile’s preference is to work in a general practice where local community connections and engagements are a valuable part of our after-care services.

Sara Murphy

Sara, after gaining her nursing qualification in Trinity, went on to complete a course in Dental Radiography in 2018.  Sara has experience of working in both a specialist and a general dental practice plus extensive retail experience outside of dentistry.  Sara naturally fits with the Vard Dental culture with her bias towards community, family and work life balance which shows in an empathetic approach to all our patients.

Yvonne O’Sullivan

Yvonne qualified from Dublin Dental School & Hospital, Trinity College in 2009 and joined Vard Dental in April 2017.  Yvonne has both specialist and private practice experience both in Ireland and abroad and continues to be a dental hygiene tutor in the Dublin Dental hospital. Yvonne’s passion for her oral hygiene work shows through meticulous and detailed work and advice, which benefits our patients enormously.

Ilaria Balconi

An Italian native from Rome, Ilaria graduated with a first-class honours degree in dental hygiene and has several years’ experience in both private, public and specialist practices in Rome and now in Ireland. Ilaria joined Vard Dental in December 2017.  Ilaria followed her heart to Ireland and through her “seize the day” approach to life and bubbly personality quickly gained the respect of our patients.

Keeping Current

We are aware of the need to keep our dental knowledge refreshed, to keep up with dental trends, and aware of our impact on our communities and more recently we’ve a new initiative to be eco aware of your dental care.

In 2018, we introduced our Community Chat initiative. A patient pops into our photo booth, we snap a photo, we pop the photo up on social media and for every photo we take we pop a €1 into our Community Chat Fund.  As of May 2019, we donated €136 to SVP Ballybrack and €158 to one our patients who ran the Westport half marathon to raise funds for Pieta House from our Community Chat Fund. The participants of Community Chat nominate the local worthy causes for the Community Chat Funds.

We share a lot of dental information online Google, Facebook, Instagram and more recently Twitter. Follow us on Facebook to see our dental hygiene tips.

In 2019, we have started our “Eco Aware Your Dental Care”.

We attend industry conferences e.g. IDA (Irish Dental Association) annual conferences and conferences which are run by leaders within the dental industry.

We subscribe to, and are members of, the Irish Dental Association, which is the Irish dental governing body.

We continue to keep our dental knowledge current through attending courses, doing online courses e.g. health and safety, restorative specialised courses and adopting new implant techniques.

The dental industry operates a voluntary CPD scheme – Continual Professional Development scheme. As we believe that it’s important to keep up to date with industry development and improvements, we voluntarily achieve and keep in line with the Continual Professional Development scheme.
